I owe a tremendous thank you to Donika Mishineva for all the effort, creativity, and time taken in designing the book covers for the novellas ‘The Language Barrier’ and ‘Annabelle’, the first two stories from ‘The Human Factor’ series. Donika is a graphic artist, and custom book cover designs are her speciality. Although it is said that you can’t judge a book by its cover, many do, and it is the first thing you see.
She has worked tirelessly with an author who doesn’t know what he’s doing to produce results that look brilliant and encompass the characters and storyline of each book.
Donika initially contacted me through LinkedIn and I thought, ‘Yep, good contact. Perhaps I should talk with her.’ I think it was over twelve months before I did, and now I regret the wasted time. When I eventually made contact, I found her very easy to work with and we began tossing ideas back and forth across the globe. I do have some idea of the amount of research needed for Donkia to find and then work with the graphics to produce the book covers. I think she’s done a fantastic job.
She is not only talented and an ‘outside the square’ creative, she also has great communication skills and is willing to listen and discuss ideas. She can design covers for me for as long as I'm able to write material that at least halfway matches her cover designs. And I'll have to work hard to do that.
I couldn’t wish for more, for a first impression of my books.
