MY THOUGHTS - Finding the Problem.

What are the major problems in the world today? How’s this for a list? They’re not in any particular order.

·          Israel – No, I don’t mean the Jewish people or Judaism the religion.

·          America – And I don’t just mean Trump.

·          The ‘natural’ environment, or rather, our effect on it.

·          The Russia/Ukraine war – In this case, you could possibly just put ‘Putin’.

·          The media, including the internet.

·          Bigotry in all its forms.

·          Nationalism.

Yes, I could add a lot more, and many people will argue with some of the ones on the list. Still, I looked at that list and decided I could really replace it with just one.

·          The Human Race.

Well, isn’t it true?

Like many people, I’ve been thinking about this for many years, though recently began to question more deeply just why we are the problem. What is it about us that causes the other problems – the ones we try to solve? This in turn led me to questioning what it is that makes us the way we are. Finally, I actually began to write my thoughts down in a series of blogs/essays.

I’ve temporarily named the series ‘My Thoughts’, because that’s all they are. I do occasionally do a little research to check I’m not being a complete idiot and proposing something already proven false, but these are simply my ideas, and I obviously wouldn’t be writing them if they didn’t make sense to me. The first section of the series is called ‘The Thinking Process’ because I believe that is where the problems begin.

Why do we think, and therefore act, the way we do?

It’s a slow process partly because I’m continually questioning my own ideas. This has led to a few changes. I’ve decided to press on as any changes will almost certainly only be minor and I can always rewrite if I decide to press ahead with an actual book.

Damn, would this be a book of philosophy? I would never have imagined myself writing philosophy.

Nah! Just my thoughts.

Why did I start this?
